Destiny

Something had been missing in this sleepy silent town
Summer arrived when you came around
Didn’t you feel like you moved me
That you’d been aware
Something had changed since you’d been there
Would you help me
Could you make me understand
Did you come here for no reason
Or was it part of a plan
If I thought I was your destiny
I’d tell you who I am
But I am not that kind of man

All of my friends say I’m out of my mind
And what can I do but agree
I say to myself it’s a matter of time
‘Til I get you alone and I make you trully see
That there was no choice in the matter
When the stars are aligned
Well they’re going to have their way
So don’t go fooling ourselves
Our paths are entwined
No matter what you say

Heaven help me
Can I make you understand
That you came here for a reason
And it was part of a plan
Who are we to question destiny
I’ll tell you what I am
I am just your kind of man

Seven O’clock and it’s raining again
Though there wasn’t a cloud in the sky
I check for a message
In case I’d forgotten the time or the place that you said that you’d come by
In a minute you come ‘round the corner
You’re soaked to the skin
There’s a fire in your eye
It’s the way we knew it would happen

Then you held me
And you made me understand
That you came here for a reason
And it was part of a plan
Now I know you are my destiny
I’ll tell you who I am
I am just your kind of man
